concrete drawing 3 - foam removal and second pour

once the concrete set for a couple days we came back and removed the foam template.

its a slow process that results in a big mess before it gets better.

after a couple of hours of picking and scrapping out foam and glue it gets cleaned up

and the drawing is almost ready for the next colour to be poured.

the next day we arrive early and use some string to mark out where our final cutting lines will be.

this also gives us a guide to place out the lifters within the drawing.

the mini mix arrives with the black coloured concrete.

and our team get to work tapping the concrete into place in all the open spaces.

then we add in the structural mesh

and fill up the rest of the mold

charlie levels out and cleans up the surface

and we now will leave it covered for a few days to cure before we flip and cut it next week.

it takes 28 days for the concrete to fully cure, but we will flip and cut it after 4 days.
