concrete drawing 2 - second colour

once the foam was all removed we were ready to pour the second colour.

this second colour is even more greenish in colour,

 

we started by placing piles of the concrete on the old sections and then we have to carefully tap it into the open sections where the foam was to get the bubbles out and let it set with a smooth finish.

once this is done, we top up the rest of the mold with concrete.

then we place in the reinforcement mesh

 

and then totally fill the metal framework.

then the whole thing is vibrated to get the rest of the air bubbles out.

then charlie smoothed out the surface

 

and we placed in the back lifters

this time we also decided to put in a snap line marking the cut lines,

 

and we numbered each section, just in case.

 

now we let it all set up for a couple of days before we flip it and cut it up.
