broken scaphoid

a week and a half ago i was drilling a hole in some hard wood timber and the drill got caught and spun my wrist snapping my scaphoid.

i didnt even know i had a scaphoid bone until then. it is a small bone and the fracture although through the center did not show up on the xray that day in the emergency department. so i left thinking i had a bad sprain, but the pain did not go away so i went back to the doctors, had more scans, and then found the fracture.

 

eventually i saw the wrist specialist doctor and we discussed the options and decided to treat it with a cast, not surgery. thanks goodness.

 

so this is me for the next 6 weeks, then i will get it taken off and more scans to see where we are at. hopefully all healed, fingers crossed.
