bench seats and back garden done - kind of

on the weekend i finally got to putting out the straw mulch over the garden. it is really deep, so it might take a bit to get the seeds sprouting through, and the garlic bulbs popping out. it looks great and hopefully means there will be fewer weeds taking up space in the garden.

in the studio deb and i have been very busy this week. 

 

here are the timber bench seats with all 6 layers of painting done. that is 2 layers of undercoat and 4 layers of high gloss paint. the high gloss looks really great against the rough raw timber sections. 

on the other side we decided to use a black tinted oil, and again this sits really well against the high gloss paint. on monday we will do the finishing touches and attach the metal footings ready for install.

we have also been working hard on a timber walkway. more on that part of the project soon.
