i am half way done my residency. its crazy time is flying by and i feel like i could use another month to get everything done. but i will try and get things done in 2 and a half more productive weeks.
here are some highlights and progress so far.
this is how my space looks now. much more going on and much more glass stuff to, not just paper.
i have been busy in the cold shop using this diamond saw. it is a beauty.

i cut these sections out of my cylinders to slump them open into a sheet in the kiln.
as you can see from this photo that was a total failure.
upon gathering some advice and info from others i cut out a larger section from my cylinders as above. this should make the slumping easier and achievable.
i got the second layer of enamels fired onto the tiles. they have been on hold the last few days but will get to them again this week for the third and fourth layers of enamel.
this is the cold shop, the noisy cold shop.
this is the mold room in use. i won't use this space but it is great that this area is here for casting molds.
i am making some progress on slumping my tiles. i think this will lead into both exhibition work and a new production line. i need to work on imagery for these asap.
these are the 2 sandblasters. they are heavy duty, even the light grit one turned down low is super strong.
i did some small wrap ups in the hot glass studio.
not bad for a first attempt, will try making more this week and in a larger scale.
its not a finished thing but i think i am on my way to some place good with this idea.
and that is where i am at. tired, and a bit sore but making progress.
