enamelling with netty!

i was really looking forward to today. my friend netty gave me a small tutorial on glass enameling and the different processes that you can use them.  it was great.

these are the 2 drawings i had ready for the day.

this is all the stuff and prep netty did for the class.

this is us in the thick of it trying various techniques.

these are the 6 sample tiles that are currently in the kiln. i will add more layers to each of them as i test various techniques.

these are some of the samples that we were working from.

and finally i got my first batch of flattened cylinders out of the kiln. now i have so much to do, enamel tests, lathe tests, tests in the hot shop, more cylinders to make! so much to do! I actually have 4 kilns booked out at this moment, for everything i am doing!

funny how just yesterday i was feeling like nothing was happening and i had no idea what to do, and yet today i am overwhelmed and wondering when i will eat lunch some days. (apparently that is how it always is during the first week) also i am a bit of an overachiever and i often have too many ideas all at once. i have re evaluated my plans and am working towards a cool 5 different projects to test now in the next 4 weeks. ok maybe 6. wish me luck!
