i feel like i have been a bit all over the place lately. i have been preparing for a big chunk of time away from my everyday life, so it has been busy. i am writing to you from Canberra. that's right i am in the capital city of Australia on a 5 week long artist residency. now before the photos of the happenings here fly i thought i would wrap up a couple things that took place before i left.
i made this really yummy dinner for me and borris last week. it was a simple pumpkin soup (made with pumpkins i grew myself last summer) with brown rice, toasted pepitas, sour cream/yoghurt and a rosemary, garlic, lemon butter drizzled over it. it was so good, definitely a new favorite way to eat pumpkin soup.
i finally finished making and installing a wall piece in my studio.
the image above is the one i took, just with my little camera.
this is the image the photographer took with his fancy big camera.
and a detail. it was great having the photographer some to the studio to shoot the work, it meant i had it all ready to go and he had to lug in his equipment. usually it is the other way around, but i think in the future studio photography might be better for me and my work.
and finally a photo of otto at a halloween party. he didn't even mind the bow, and he was super well behaved around the screaming children and BBQ.
