today i got to spend the day puttering around the house, and eventually getting started on a couple of sewing projects. i actually have a list and a pile of stuff to sew but i thought i would start with the easiest ones.
this is the jelly roll i had cut into squares. there is an easier way get the same tiled effect by stitching the lengths of fabric together and then cutting them into strips with 4 squares of fabric in each row already joined together, but by doing each square separately i get to choose the layout for each tile.

i actually have a fair amount of the jelly roll left, i think i could probably make another quilt too.
this is where i got to today with this project.
my other project is was to make a dog pillow. that's right a pillow for my future dog.
i used some left over fabric i had in my stash and some left over bean bag fill to make the inner pillow. now i just need to make a washable pillow case cover.
(more on the puppy soon)

I've made pillows for the cats but of course didn't think about a removable cover...you're so smart!
