jelly roll

i bought my first jelly roll the other day.

a jelly roll is an entire fabric collection that has been cut into 2 1/2" strips, rolled up and tied with a bow. each pack contains one 44" long strip of each fabric in the group.

i bought the little apples range by moda.

it is a nice way to get a variety of fabrics without having to select them all and get each one cut separately. because a jelly roll has fabric from one range, it all goes together quite well.

this is me unrolling it!

and this is what you get at the end.

a good selection of colours and prints, ready to be patch worked together for a quilt.

i am going to use this jelly roll to make a quilt for my friend. i just need to decide which quilt pattern to use. more on that soon.
