other distractions

this image is here for my good pal in sydney (you now who you are).
lets start our own band and tour!

this is me and my pineapple ukelele. it is beautiful and lovely to look at and to play.

seeing as i am not making much work right now i decided to try and learn how to play music. i see it as still making but without the object at the end that you need to do something with like sell or have an exhibition. it seems i am struggling to come to terms with this idea and desire i have to make things in a world already full of and overflowing with stuff.

for a while i have been trying to learn piano accordion. and i still will but for now this is easier and it was much cheaper to buy than the piano accordion i have my eye on.

the first song i am learning is harvest moon by neil young.

the pineapple ukelele has however inspired me to want to make a lovely carry case for it so when i get it done i will post it here.

this is the best instrument i have ever seen. cbc radio had a piece yesterday about how the uke is taking over and which famous musicians are coming out of the closet with their ukes held high. rock on pineapple style!

Sweet uke! Will you have it on your trip this winter? I may have an extra one by then, if not! A trio jam session!
