last week my exhibition at canberra glassworks opened.
i flew in for the event. the gallery installed the work for me the week before.
actually this was the next day, but the opening was good.
for those of you that could not make the opening here are a few snaps of the gallery space.
as you walk into the space, my new black pieces down the left hand side, with the red crates at the end.
an on the right the callistemon piece, hazard, chain link, olgyadiv, and little sky.
another view of the right hand wall.
the space is long and narrow, and i think that it looked pretty good with my wall pieces.
there was enough room for each piece to sit on its own but it had a good overall vibe.
the callistemon piece looked really good i thought. it was well lit, and you could really see the image.
i also specified for there to be a bit more room in between the tiles this time for the piece oglyadiv and i think it looked really good.
there is a small walkway at the end of the gallery that leads to a round gallery space. in this walk way area i had my collection of 5 native plant silhouette artworks. they are impossible to photograph but looked really good across from the window with natural light.
this is looking back towards the entrance of the gallery.
the artist exhibiting in the circular gallery was Shirley Hersch.
she had an installation of pate de verre glass units that are suspended.
