WOMAD or World of Music and Dance Festival was on a couple weekends ago. it goes for 4 days, and is held in the beautiful botanic park lands just outside the city.

its a bit expensive to go but this year borris and i both volunteered for the festival and this meant that we got a 4 day pass at no cost. we just had to donate some time over the weekend, about 4 hours each day. not bad really, otherwise i would not be able to afford to go.
there are about 7 stages and heaps to see. this is a chilled out performance under the moreton bay fig trees.
it's a bit on the edge of hippy, but that is cool. there are so many acts everyday and lots of food and workshops on too.
it was quite hot over the weekend around 40 degrees so during mid day everyone found respite under the shade of the trees in the park lands.
i had a great time and look forward to it next year, although it did take a lot of effort to stay til the end on some of the nights, i am still not a night owl. :)
