breaking the fast

the juice fast is over. i started to feel hungry again with my stomach grumbling a lot on the end of the 7th day. i decided that that was long enough, and also the week ahead is a busy one so being on a juice fast is probably not the wisest thing. 

when breaking a juice fast it is good to start with high water content food and just a bit at a time. i had a banana smoothy to start, and then some lettuce. for dinner after the fast i had some sprouts, lettuce, cucumber and snow peas.


i wrapped them up in a rice paper roll, and that was enough to fill me up. in fact it felt like i had a small rock in my stomach. 


the next night i had the same again. it is actually quite nice to bite into the rice paper roll and chew food again. i am still not eating meat or cheese, and introducing foods to my diet slowly. really for me the longer i can not eat cheese the better, because i love cheese so much i sometimes enjoy it more than i should. maybe i can hold out for a week longer before having any.
