my veggie patch

last week i went with FSF to the nursery and spent the last of my weekly budget on compost and plants. every penny worth it. this was my backyard before the trip.

these are the plants that i bought along with 4 bags of compost and lucky me i got a bucket of chook poo from FSF for FREE!!

i dug in the poo and compost one night after work. then after waiting for the end of the hot weekend weather on sunday in the late afternoon i set about making my garden.

this is my passion fruit vine. in a sunny position in the garden and with high expectations for it not to die in the summer heat.

and this is the rest of the garden. i only planted out about half of the space i have. i want to leave room for garlic potatoes and beans that are all supposed to be planted in the next month or so.

but i have planted so far lettuce, bok choy, beetroot, red cabbage, tomato, capsicum (peppers) basil, sage, cucumber, swiss chard, broccoli and its not in this picture but i also got a bay leaf tree, (i will take a snap shot of that later),

anyways fingers crossed that i can one day enjoy eating some of it and in the meantime enjoy watching it grow and get some inspiration for my new artwork which is about fruit and veg. more on that in a future blog.
