rosie's birthday mumu

well it was my good pal rosie's birthday the other day and this is one of the projects i have been working on and one of the things i have actually made recently.

i had been threatening for some time to make rosie a mumu. i bought one at an op-shop a few years ago and love it. on very hot days, you can almost feel like you are not wearing anything when you have to be wearing something. so the fact that it was her birthday and the fact that she is also expecting a baby in about four months i thought it was the perfect opportunity to make her a mumu.

i used an old curtain with the big floral pattern, and some buttons from my button jar matched perfectly and were added as bling. i added some red frill at the hem and used a checked binding for the sleeves and neck and ties. the big shoulder frills are not on the mumu but the dress underneath (she tried it on in the bowling alley when i gave it to her) as you can see she has plenty of room to grow.
