omnivore's dilema

this is a book i am reading right now. it is 2 weeks overdue from the library, but i can't return it yet, i am almost done. i highly recommend this book to everyone.

i am really interested in food, and not just eating it or cooking it, but i want to be able to grow my own, and i also think that the social and moral issues around food is very interesting.

this book is really well written and easy to read. while it does contain lots of information it is still written with a plot or story behind it. it certainly makes you think about what you are eating and the effect your food has on not only your body but our planet.

i haven't gotten to the end yet but while it sheds light on things we all don't usually think about and it makes you question your own practice, you don't feel horrible and guilty. In fact the info i am reading is making me feel even more empowered. it makes me think that the most important act we do as people that effects the environment, and heath of planet and animals is the act of choosing what we eat. Where and how our food is produced effects us in way i hadn't thought of.

read this book it is good.
